Just finished smoking MacBaren Virginia Flake in a late '90s half smooth/half etched freehand sitter, medium bend Nielsen Viggo with a pearl brown acrylic stem.

This evening I am smoking 2000 McC Christmas Cheer in a CAO Bekler in memory of Cano Ozenger who passed away today. This is a special pipe that Is from Cano's personal collection. May he Rest In Peace.

G&H Plug mixed with Brown Twist in a 12" meerschaum 'cutty' London straw with amber stem and silver band bearing an 1853 dedication to some dude who married a bird called Sarah. The band is hallmarked Manchester and the pipe seems to be from an French maker whose name has all but worn from the case lining. I suspect the band was added to reinforce the shank as well as to provide space for the dedication. I have often wondered how long they lived for since the pipe is very well colored and appears to have been heavily used without breaking.

Still trying out some tobacco samples. After being completely bowled over by Ivan the Terrible, I had to load up the Champion Deluxe with St. Basil’s Miyagi’s Mindfulness. It’s obvious that a lot of thought and attention was put into this one. Cigar leaf blends rarely achieve this level of mellowness. A little smokey. A little spicy. Just a touch of sweetness. What a pleasant smoke for a late spring evening!

Ivan still reigns supreme, in my opinion, but Miyagi-san has a few moves of his own.
