I've passed the first third of this bowl of Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This was the original 515 that Basil Rathbone smoked, and the model that he smoked it in. I may end the day with this smoke. Fed the ferals, and two of them went out afterward. Daisy the Feral Princess did linger a little and was very demanding of my attention. She's been like that a lot lately. Now that I've watched the Orioles-Jays game, it's time to start reading baseball box scores.

The 90F+ temps with the miserable humidity have finally blown out of here. My house is open for the first time in close to a week, A good day for a light red Virginia. I'm enjoying some 7 year old Rattray 40 Virginia in a Peterson Christmas 2022 billiard. Don't recall the shape number, and don't have a pic, but it's a smaller army mount, with a copper band.

Really??? I have not heard of a Bic lighter exploding from heat in a vehicle. That is wild............

Beautiful
I always put my lighter on the dash when I’m smoking and driving but now I will not. Imagine if it exploded while driving, no good. I doubt it would explode while you’re driving because the AC is going or the windows are down. However, once bitten, twice shy.

Yesterday's Smoke and Daily Festivities. Only one pipe, just a final confirmation of the break-in on the Mr. Brog #52 "Scoot", in that it really liked Captain Black Dark. Yes, it did, but I just ran out of gas - stopped smoking after about 45 minutes, cavernous bowl not even half done, and yup, my old friend tongue bite returned, so just chew and a cigar a day until it goes away. Guess I'll never learn moderation in all things.

A of things transpired, though, and when I get back to the ability to assess, I'll try a few other tobaccos in this monster. It surely does smoke great. But a friend of mine over for a puff said, "Gordo, it's not really ugly. It's cute ugly. Like, Miss Piggy."

I kind of did a double take, and thought, while I seldom name inanimate objects, figuring it's a lame thing to do, it just somehow fit. So . . . . as Oscar Winner F. Murray Abraham said as a mantra in his winning role in the excellent movie about Mozart, played in stellar fashion by Tom Hulce of "Animal House" fame, "There it is!" Miss Piggy.

Rest of day's activities in "Skippable Drivel" underneath the pic.

Skippable Drivel: Right now I'm simply overwhelmed. I've picked, processed and canned over two gallons each, of Cherries and Saskatoons, done a full load of teaching, and no end in sight. The photos below are from yesterday, and I've got three more cherry trees and I think, five more Saskatoon bushes to pick, before the &%#*#@!&& second picking from each tree and bush is ready.

Re-inforcements fortunately are back from their holidays starting tomorrow, unless they've killed off each other in the inevitable family encounter sessions.

A couple of snaps to show you - lots more but no time to process them. The bumblebees move fast, and I'm not a macro guy, but . . . . .

No promises for tomorrow, but I'll do my best to appear and do a bit of catchup.

"There it is." :ROFLMAO:
I know it's a whole lotta work, canning all that. But I am very envious, that you HAVE all that fruit available. Be grateful my friend. Those of us in arid parts of the world can only wish. Btw, love the name of your pipe. Too funny.

C&D Exclusive on a beautiful UP morning with my boys and uncle.
IMG_3912.jpeg

Fun/terrible story: shortly after taking this pic, my uncle caught a muskie and proceeded to burry a treble hook about 1/2” in to his thumb - as far as the hook would go. I was of little help except handing him supplies and trying to seem unphased while nearly passing out while he removed it 😂. We bandaged him up and he tied the same blood-soaked lure up to the line and casted right back out there 😂. I’m convinced he left a bit of thumb meat in the parking lot blood pool 😳😂
