Did some low calorie snacking, and am smoking year 2010 Penzance in a 1990s smooth dark brown medium bend Peterson Captain Pete XL80 bulldog with a metal accent and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Just let Tomato the Brave back in to eat, and he's up to his usual antics, the silly fella. Harry the Hairy is still snoozin' under the blanket. He's been there for five hours or so. Daisy the Feral Princess yapped for some food, and she's near my feet now.

Up early for the morning ferry to a neighboring island where a friend had a crank up antenna tower for me which was now surplus to his requirements. Got it back home, plan to put it up next year (still some negotiating to do for exact location with planning dept aka she who must be obeyed) ;)

Stanilsaw Balkan Latakia in a small MM corn cob pipe.
Some say that Latakia blends are not for summer, not for heat weather conditions. Well, I disagree, I like them and smoke them through the year.
Some also say that there are other blends, much more superior than this one which is "not rich", "flat", "without personality" etc. Well, I disagree as well. I liked it from the first time I smoked it many years ago till today and prefer it over very well known and established relatives in the family. But, as said many times and by many, our hobby is highly subjective.
Have a nice week good people!

IMG_4992.jpegRobert McConnell Ready Rubbed is a natural blend of Virginia, Oriental, and Burley, with no added flavorings. Cut: ready-rubbed. It delivers a light, balanced profile: citrusy and toasty Virginias, dry Oriental spice, and a soft nutty-earthy base from Burley. Cool, steady burn; low-to-medium nicotine. This blend appears to pay respectful homage to the late Dunhill Ready Rubbed — not a direct replica, but clearly crafted in its spirit: clean, dry, and straightforward, with an English-style natural character suited for daily smoking.

Now smoking year 2021 Watch City Simply VOriental in a straight smooth medium brown 1930s Wilshire 5 bulldog (Comoy’s second) made for John’s Pipe Shop in Los Angeles with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Just fed Sleepy Suzy, who has been by my side all evening. Fed Molly Danger not long before that. I started to post this smoke when Harry the Hairy finally woke up, and came out from under the blanket to eat once he heard Suzy leave the kitchen. He's eating now. Watching JFK: Revisited.
