7 year old Wessex Red Virginia Flake in a blasted Willmer billiard. Again.
You are very welcome, dear lady. Most of the time, I don't have much to chat about, and the cat stories give me a chance to do that. Knowing that there are animal lovers here, I figure sharing my enjoyment with my fellow pipe smokers may bring a little happiness to their day. What an entertaining fellow Tomato is! And so are your cat stories. Thank you!
I am a clencher which is why I don't smoke some of the big Ardors and Rinaldos that I have. This particular Ascorti is rather light in weight for its size, and I do clench it unless I'm doing something where it might interfere wih my movements. It's more comfortable when I am sitting down than when I am walking, but I can clench then as well. Every so often during a smoke, I do have to take it out of my mouth to give my jaw a break for half a minute at most, but that's mostly due to the length of the pipe. In regard to the angle aspect that you asked about, it's as perfect as any other pipe that you would see. This is an interesting looking pipe, Jim. I don't know if you are a "clencher" or not, but does this pipe hang or rest comfortably in your mouth?? The angle of the bowl/shank appears to be in contrast with the angle of the mouthpiece. Maybe it's just me.....
I’m currently smoking through a tin from 2012 and have been somewhat underwhelmed. I’d be interested to know how you are getting along with it.2011 Dunhill Navy Rolls in my Ken Barnes saddle dublin.

I’ve had my tin open for 3-4 weeks.Navy Rolls with 10+ years of age is a favorite of mine, this one is just like all the others. Smooth, rich, sweet, moderate but unmistakable perique presence, and great burning qualities. Whatever casing was used is just perfect to my taste.
When did you open your tin? I’ve found anything with significant age (more than 10 years) can take a week or two in the jar to “wake up”. That’s not always the case but it’s happened many times for me where I crack an old tin and it smells incredible and then I light up and everything tastes muted. 2 weeks in the jar later and it’s fireworks.

I have 2) System Standard 302s. Love the "feel in hand" they have. Comfy, fit well, have a substantial "solidness" to them. Could very well be my choice if, somehow, I was forced to choose one shape.Alan's Inspiration in a Peterson XL02 in Green Spigot finish. (I'd ordered an ebony finish, but they sent me this one by mistake; I liked it and kept it.) What a great shape this is.
