Now smoking Wilke Pickett’s Charge in a post-WW2 straight smooth brown pre-Republic Peterson’s Dublin 3 bulldog with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem.

Jim, I have never heard of this tobacco....
Do you know if Wilke named it after the famous desperate charge at the end of the Battle of Gettysburg??

Now smoking a bowl from a freshly opened bag of year 2014 Esoterica Tilbury in a straight smooth Danish gold straight grain undated W.O. Larsen Hand Made in Denmark dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Fed Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave. Harry the Hairy wasn't hungry, probably due to the heat and humidity. Haven't seen Abner the Eager yet. Molly Danger just came out of the bedroom crying for food. I'll take care of her as soon as I post this smoke.

Wilke Wall Street was my idea: burleys with 45% perique, and John Brandt named it. Not long after that, I decided that I occasionally want a lighter version, so I suggested to John to make a version with ten percent perique. That's what Pickett's Charge is, and John did name it after that battle.

The same goes for Wilke Back Bay, which was my idea and John named it. Gold Va.s and 45% perique. Later, I suggested the lighter version (10% perique) which he named Little Round Top.

I figured that if I would like a lighter version, so would some of my fellow pipe smokers. :)

Just picked up a tin of C & D Pee Dee last week.
Haven't opened it yet, but wondered what you think of it??
I love it! I'm gonna buy couple more tins myself when I get a chance. Smokes amazing right out the tin. Full of flavor. My opinion anyway. I really been enjoying it. You let me know, what you think of it when you get to it alright

Burley Flake #1 with my Lorenzetti Julius Caesar, but I'm actually smoking it with my Savinelli Cumberland 806. Changed my mind after I took the picture. Should have changed my mind about the tobacco. I was set to smoke another bowl of Pee Dee but thought I'd dig this out my celler. It's okay, but it's put away in my celler in the first place because it just don't do much for me. It's smoking alright I guess. This was gonna be my last bowl but I don't really want to end my day on this.
