I’m certain you’ve had the same weather as us which is 3X’s the average rainfall. I’ve had to spend 3 days mowing to get it under control and stay ahead of it.
I finally sat down from mowing what I intended to yesterday and leaving an acre to dry for today and it started thundering. So back out last night mowing again

I understand how you feel about Rusty — 15 years is a full life, and it’s clear he meant the world to you. We had a Golden Retriever who lived to 13. He was truly a saint of a dog, a real family member, and his passing left a deep void. About three months later, we visited a breeder and brought home a wonderful little girl. They’re all special — not as replacements, but each with their own unique presence. Glad to hear the cats are keeping you company for now. Sometimes it just takes time.

As a (once and always) ichthyologist, I must admit this Neerup with the silver salmon motif really caught my eye! I’ve seen many of Neerup’s creative finishes and stem accents, but never one with this kind of detailed fish engraving. What a stunning and original design. Not envy, just admiration — and a little curiosity: is this part of a special or limited series, or was it a one-off? Either way, it’s a beautiful piece and certainly unique in the wild waters of pipe design!

I find this a very interesting post. I've turned into a "tinkerer" myself, having come up with 5 home mixes that I like, and 3 of these I've put in regular rotation, preferring them to or liking them as much as anything in the same vein that I've experienced so far.
Unfortunately crippled with wild tobacco prices and duty up here, my experience with tobaccos is necessarily limited, but is going to be further enhanced by "growing my own," with 2 burleys, 2 virginias and an oriental already started in one of my buddy's greenhouse.
I think it's like cooking. We all love good food, and a great restaurant is always a source of wonder and culinary marvels, but there remains a cherished family recipe that we all have that ranks with the very best there is, and legitimately so.
And the quest continues. Always read postings of home mixing with real interest.

My sincere sympathies for your contrainment. Dealing with the same kind of thing with antibiotics. While misery indeed loves company, I'm finding the best thing is to make lemonade out of the lemon.
We shall soldier on, eh? And kudos for those bulldogs. Beautiful pipes. Will have to get one sometime in the future, but right now I've too many short and long pipes, and need a couple of Mama Bears to fill the gap. One on it's way hehehehe.

Another old retired guy and I do projects around our neighborhood. Busy and hot morning mowing and trimming. Cooling off under the pergola. Nice and balmy 90F in the shade. Water bottle has water, ice, salt and lemon. Cob has Stubb’s Pipe in it. Love me some summer time!
The struggle is real! I only have half an acre that is sloping for the most part but…I only have a push mower at the moment. I planted micro clover after 1 season of rye and oat hoping to reduce the frequency of mowing but still have enough grass to have to mow once a week. Smokin Casey Jones Beyond Brave (finally figured it out) in a MM Mark Twain. I have 2 pounds of PS7 Vanilla on the way from P&C. They usually came through for me in New York, let's see how they do with Indiana.
This pipe never ceases to amaze (frighten?) me. Agressive, stunning and certainly eye candy in the most bizarre way!!
