Hey guys. Been a while since I’ve posted. Working from home today and starting off with some C&D Blue Ridge in a Savinelli churchwarden.

Interesting pipe! Do you happen to see any remaining markings or stampings on the shank or stem? That might help narrow things down. It does remind me of some of the color combinations Savinelli has played with over the years — especially those yellow–black accent rings and the amber-like stem. They’re known for experimenting with bright trims and bold finishes, so it’s definitely possible.MacBaren Balkan Blend in a possible Savinelli?......maybe, maybe not.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m curious how it stands on its own, not just as a “Balkan-style” blend. How’s the balance between Orientals and Latakia? Is it smooth, sharp, overly dry, or surprisingly sweet? Would appreciate any impressions — especially from those who’ve smoked a few bowls rather than just sniffed the tin. Thanks in advanceThanks to @Backwoods Briar I was able to find a Chimney bowl for my Falcon pipe. Today was the "maiden voyage" for the new bowl. It did a great job for a first smoke. I filled it with C & D Palmetto Balkan which made for a fine experience.
Its definitely TRYING to be a Savenelli.Interesting pipe! Do you happen to see any remaining markings or stampings on the shank or stem? That might help narrow things down. At first, I flashed back to those German women/girls when I was stationed in (West) Germany during my US Army tour.I got a boss that smokes it that way.
@Sandblast I had the same thoughts when I first started scrolling those pictures. I thought, "Man, what a cellar!" Ha.I wish. This is just a part of the selection of pipe tobacco available at a local pipe store in Cologne.
Personally, I love it. I am not really a balkan user but this could be an all day smoke for me. It is a light to medium strength blend that has some basic earthy notes but also some sweetness and tartness. Definitely not a dry blend as it tends toward the moist side but I smoked that entire tall bowl today with only one relight.I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m curious how it stands on its own, not just as a “Balkan-style” blend.
