Half way through this bowl of year 2012 St. James Flake in a 1998 smooth medium bend brown Peterson Limerick 69 with a nickel band with a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Even though this is on the lower on the totem pole Peterson line, this pipe smokes as well as the higher end ones. Took out trash and recycle, and fed Harry the Hairy who finally woke up. Watching the Pirates-Mariners game. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

I haven’t tried Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation 1882 yet, and I’d appreciate any impressions from those who have.
After my disappointing experience with 1855, I’ve started to take the tin descriptions from the brand with a grain of salt.
According to the official notes, 1882 is supposed to be an English blend—but if that’s the case, I’m a bit puzzled: what’s Kentucky doing in there?
Would love to hear some thoughts before committing to a tin. Thanks in advance!
It's medium strength, maybe a tad stronger. The Kentucky is noticeable, but not as much as the Latakia and Orientals. I gave it three stars when I reviewed it.

A number of English blends have Kentucky in them, but they call them English blends just the same. Guess it makes it easier for them to say so.

I have to ask... how do you decide which tobacco and which pipe without spending hours trying to make up your mind?

🤝Thanks for the detailed answer. I ordered one can to try. Let's see what STG has created there once again.

Did some low calorie snacking, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of 2023 KBV Roman Legion in a 1935 small, straight smooth dark brown Irish Free State K&P (Peterson) billiard with a silverish cap military mount and tapered black vulcanite stem. Fed all the ferals. Daisy the Feral Princess was on lap for a while. Harry the Hairy was rather jealous of that, but didn't do more than stare sadly. Abner the Eager went out after being in most of the day. Tomato the Brave ate, and went out.

Forgot the pic earlier, which shows Gracie about to try to bite Bob’s face off😆

Now having some KBV Verve Engine in a Eire System 31.
Finished up testing tractor’s relief valve after plumbing a test port into a bucket cylinder. Now to wait on parts from Kubota to get it to be back up to where it is supposed to be.

Oh, man! You'd laugh if you saw me at indecision time. I walk around looking at what's open going back and forth trying to figure it out. One of my really good phone friends laughs at me every time that happens when we chat.

Most of the time, it's not as hard as all that, though. I just have to figure what I feel like smoking next, and decide which blend will suit that desire.

A nice procession of Petes today, Jim. Most elucidative!
Thank you. I have a lot of Petersons. More than any other maker. Comoy's are in second place.

You're welcome. Hope it works out for you.
