I broke in a new Savinelli second yesterday. It’s unstamped other than the Savinelli logo on the underside. It has a vulcanite stem and it’s clearly the 626 shape, which happens to be my favorite.

This is a real gem. Absolutely gorgeous, one of the most beautiful pipes I've ever seen. However, I wish I could share your enthusiasm for baseball. Even though I have Stan Musial's autograph in my memorobilia, obtained from a Cards-Fillies game I was at in 1959 during a trip to St. Louis to visit relatives, the game bores me to death. I'm not a hockey fan, either, in spite of it being "our" game up here. Itching though, for the start of the NFL season. Now, THAT'S my game!

Actually, I disagree! Nice lines, well chosen mouthpiece, and the briar itself has a nice and gentle figure that say's "relax and smoke me." A fine piece of folk art. My newly designated "opera pipe," on the other hand . . . . . four fingers and a thumb. I still think it wins the kewpie doll for homely.
I knew a guy in university days, one of the most handsome dudes I'd ever met, who was lusted after by every girl on campus, who married a girl as you described - she even had a bit of Bell's Palsy. Not a looker. He often was asked "Why?" His answer was simply, "Because I love her. Finest girl and most beautiful soul I've ever met. Wouldn't trade her even up for Marilyn Monroe." They're still married as far as I know - I left Vancouver/Victoria in 1998 to come up to PG and lost track.

Morning Smoke: Had the best sleep I've had in a long time, minimal pain, just the healing stuff. Only smoked the MM Minicob STC with a repeat of my homemix cherry as per yesterday, so won't even bother to post the usual boring picture 'cause I'm not even having a cigar. Gonna revamp my morning post picture. Nuff's enough.
Going to be a busy day. See y'all tomorrow. Prepping for my open house picnic to celebrate the new picnic table and the 4th, replacing the lost outings that were rained, lighting and thundered out.
No, the tornado didn't touch PG. Don't even know if it hit the Bowron River alley. Looks like everyone is having lousy weather, and hope yours improves. Cheers.

A third of the way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed our cats, and am going to check on the ferals very soon.

I never thought baseball was boring. There's a lot of strategy involved in every pitch, every play, every infield and outfield positioning. It's more of a thinking person's game than any other sport. I believe that the hardest thing to do in sports is to hit a 100 plus mile an hour fastball. Guessing what the pitcher will throw and making adjustments to his plan is unlike anything in any other sport.
You may be interested to know that in recent years MLB has changed a number rules to tighten up the game, and reduce the time of play. On the average, games are 35 minutes shorter than they were five years ago.
In my case, I started playing baseball at age six and played in several leagues including a nine year stint in semi-pro ball. Wasn't good enough for the majors, but I was always a good player, and never hit below .300 in a season. In fact, my last year at age 40, I hit .350. I was mostly a Pete Rose type of player, not much power, but I led the league in stolen bases every year until I was 40. I could tell a lot of stories, but I've probably written too much about me.
