A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2012 St. James Flake in a straight smooth brown Algerian briar post-WW2-early 50s family era Barling’s Make Ye Olde Wood T.V.F. Made in England EL billiard with a tapered black ebonite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo.

Morning Smoke, some really bizarre news, some great news, and last evening's smoke. Will cover them in this order, and then some Skippable Drivel you will possibly be interested in. First, the morning smoke . . . .

Yeah, you've seen this one before but I smoked my own (now discontinued) Cherry Mix rather than the pictured SP Cherry Cavendish. Not bad but not worth repeating - there are better ones out there, including SP Cherry Cavendish. Of course, in my chompable MM STC Minicob.

Some Really Bizarre News:
All the picnic plans are off. Prince George has been hit with 2 days of severe thunderstorms, and today and tomorrow a Tornado Warning, of all things. Never in our memory. Now, the Bowron River Area, about 70 miles east of here, has a definite tornado alley, and a few have occurred there in the past couple of decades. But, in Prince George? Nope. If this thing happens, let's hope it stays in the Bowron alley, which is pretty much uninhabited except for perhaps a few Sasquatches and/or Yeti.

Some Great News - after yesterday's catheter removal, I'm feeling better than I have in about 3 months. Only negative is that the antibiotic I'm on has set my tastebuds back . . . . can taste, but everything is like it's diluted 1 part flavour to 6 parts water mixed with pipe ash. I'll only have to put up with this pill for 6 more days. (5 now - just socked one back as I type with the usual Kwiki Grape cigar I chomp on while at the computer keyboard, which by the way no longer hurts. All that abdominal pain is gone. . . . )

Last Evening's Smoke: Because of this antibiotic taste thing, I'm only smoking monochromatic tobaccos that have no taste variance from beginning to end. I put a load of Pirate Kake into my Mr. Brog no. 94 "Shorty" nosewarmer, Lat biased. Had the expected monochromatic and diluted smoke, but it was there. I like PK once in a while, and is probably the best tongue bite remedy there is with the exception of abstinence.

I also have one of these gems in rusticated tan, Codger and Cavendish biased. These are terrific pipes, smoke great, and cost about the same as a Brulor or Ropp Etudiante on sale. They are briar, too. Big bowls. I can easily pull off an hour in them, and while I've advanced in slow smoking, necessary for these tiny pipes, I'm not ready for any kind of slow smoking contest. :ROFLMAO:

Skippable Drivel:

Yes, day after tomorrow is the big one. July 4th.
i've always celebrated this day, as well as our now passed Canada Day, which was a festivities weather bust. I have many great American friends, teachers, mentors and relatives, so it's kinda de rigeur for me.

I'm planning a very special Forum Only celebration and production for that day for my Yankee friends on Forum, especially this thread. What's it about, y'all ask? Well like my Uncle Ed used to ask, "How do you keep a turkey in suspense? Well, I'll tell you day after tomorrow!!" 😂

And a PS - thank you all so much for all the well wishes, PMs and comments I've received. I'm grateful to the max, and am well on the mend. I'll try to catch up on some retro posting later, once this pill lets me out of twighlight zone. Salut!

Now smoking year 2021 Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation Evening Flake in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson Ebony POTY 4AB No. 422/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Right after my last post, Daisy the Feral Princess went back to the food bowl and ate. I think she really wanted attention more than food.

Gord, so very glad that you are feeling better and making progress.
Can't imagine how good it felt to have the catheter removed!!

Oh, I always get a chuckle at your submission of "Skippable Drivel."
Everything that I post could be listed in that category. :ROFLMAO:
