Enjoyed a fantastic bowl of Mac Baren Scottish Mixture (bulk). I went through a Mac Baren faze years ago but always got tongue bite. So I stayed clear. But I decided to give them another shot and added a little to my order. I have to say, I feel like all these years later I have matured in my pipe smoking and puffing cadence. Not a hint of bite and I loved it. Slightly MB sweet and complex. I have heard dedicating a pipe to this blend reveals the magic. If the next few bowls are like this, it may get its own pipe.
Not far from finishing this bowl of Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style.
Now smoking Smoker’s Pride Mellow Taste in the very first pipe I ever bought ($2.49) in 1974; a smooth three quarter bend Dr. Grabow Omega military mount with a nickel band and a black vulcanite stem with a p-lip. Time to do some walking.
Peterson's Irish Flake, and HH Rustica these days, both are OK, neither is impressive for me. And a Partagas Corona Senior which started ok (but monochromatic) and changed to horrible past the halfway point.
