I've been smoking through a tin of Mac Baren Plumcake, and I'm enjoying it after learning the very hard way that it needs to be bone dry and packed very loose. I've been using a Savinelli 311 poker exclusively since the second bowl I had from the tin. This is a really excellent blend: it's sweet with a little latakia smokiness in the back, plus an enjoyable rum spice that pops up regularly. There's plenty of depth to explore, but it's also enjoyable to sit back and enjoy the unity of flavors. I think that this one would be rated much better if reviewers hadn't struggled as much with tongue bit. I've had no problem when it's dried well and packed loose.
Does your tin have Syrian in it? I haven’t tried it yet but have a Syrian tin I the cellar.

Just finished a bowl of C&D Interlude, now onto a bowl of Mac Baren Scottish Mixture (loose cut) -I've smoked a good bit of this blend over the past year and feel like I am really starting to understand it better. Ya gotta baby it but wow does it have some flavors! ..after this, grill/dinner prep!

Now smoking year 2014 HU Directors Cut in a smooth straight Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. More ice water to drink. I got all my walking reps in today.

Dunhill Durbar in a Vuillard Windsor bent apple with a faux bone ferrule, to see if I want to trade it in, and it turns out I don't. Four pipes ready to send to SP for store credit. I'll be down to my last 91 pipes counting cobs, and have listed my selection of four or five to bring the dwindling herd back to 92. They will hold a pipe, but I need to know how much they will allow on the four I'm sending, to gauge which pipe to get. My July 4 celebration, or part of it. Just struck the colors, that is took down the flag.
Vuillard is an longtime French brand now owned by someone else, Chacom I think.

How’s the Durbar? Haven’t smoked it in some time but remember the yummy orientals.

My sister sent me the Durbar for Christmas, and the tin was sealed but not new, so the Virginia has gotten really good, and the Orientals are distinguished. I'm not sure Peterson will bring this one back, but it would be a wise choice. I'll miss it when it's gone, but plan to smoke it up. Many excellent blends on hand to keep me smoking at my glacial rate.
