First smoke in an unsmoked estate Dunhill Bruyere Cherrywood that I picked up from @pipestud. I also picked up an unsmoked Taylor era Ashton unique cherrywood in the same transaction. Steve was fantastic to work with. Smoking almost 20y/o bulk 965 as the inaugural smoke. I really want to dislike Dunhill pipes for their very elitist super expensive role in the pipe world, but man! do they smoke well! Or maybe I’m just a closet elitist. And this 20y/o 965 is no slouch either! Sipping a Kyro gin martini, a smooth rye gin from Finland. 93FF1FA1-31E8-40D6-BF88-23CB6522126C.jpeg

Just finishing this bowl of Wilke Surbrug’s 71th Street in a light brown 1979 rusticated medium bend Italian Sir Jeffrey Dublin (GBD second) sitter with a flared top and yellow saddle stem. A much needed thunderstorm has finally showed up, but it's rained out the rest of my walking reps.

Another one of my newer blends, a va/ky/lat consisting of Kentucky 45%(that's been cased with maple syrup and bourbon and then heavily stoved into a sort of Cavendish), black stoved red virginia 45% and 10% Latakia, just enough lat to add some richness but not enough to drown out the other tobaccos. Everything sort of shines equally in this blend. Pressed into crumble cake. Smoked out of a tavern style clay.

Speaking about Metz here's a pipe in three parts carved on the face with the crest of the city
(Metz - capital of Moselle in Eastern France and part of the German Empire 1871-1919 when this pipe was created):-
