A cold but beautiful day in the pampa. Winter time when the sun is shining is a great time of the year for smoking the pipe here....it's an ideal time for doing anything to be honest.
Decided to get my old Gordon out. I thought it was a bullcap but have been advised by those with much more knowledge than I have is actually a Hind Cad shape. Whatever it is it's a super pipe. Smoking some Argento Duo which is a Virginia and Criollo blend...and very nice it is too.

Thats a shape(Bull Cap/Hind cad) which is becoming quite a rarity today, very nice indeed, and that tobacco sounds interesting too, never heard of it, what I do know however,Criollo, Ligeros and Piloto Cubanos Tabacos are used in the cigar industry

I hadn't purchased anything new for more than a year, content with a few lbs of bulk tobaccos to be smoked or blended as I chose, and recently splurged on a couple of blends I hadn't had, or didn't still have.
One of those I just sampled in my MM Pride 2nd (about 6yrs old) and some Amphora Burley Blend.
I was able to smoke for more than 45 minutes with some dottle remaining that I could have re-lit, but why bother after such a nice pipe? This is a worthy get for anybody who enjoys any of the codger burleys. I have no personal comparison to the likes of Solani or Wessex slices, but I will compare the taste to Edgeworth Ready Rubbed and say that it seems to have similar flavors, if perhaps deeper and slightly richer. The broken flake burned perfectly right out of a freshly opened pouch.

Just back from errands, drugstore, post box, and dropping bagged plastic at the grocery recycling, now Amphora Burley in a Stanwell slightly bent brushed brown pot designed for them by Sixten Iversson, a substantial little pocket pipe with a substantial blend.
