Half way through this bowl of Euphoria (Amphora Red Match) in the very first pipe I ever bought ($2.95) in 1974; a smooth three quarter bend Dr. Grabow Omega.

Andy and McBragg: I started detailing my pipes because it's too much trouble to do the online photo accounts, and I've gotten used to this way of doing it. There is a site where I've posted pictures of a number of my pipes, but I think it's inappropriate to publicly link to it here.

@JimInks - I'm sorry if I caused offence. It was a flippant comment on the spur of the moment which made me smile; I was in no way having a dig. I love the detail you give and although I have quite a few pipes, I don't have the number and variety you have in your herd. I've gone and looked up pictures of a number of your pipes and I've ordered new tobaccos based on the posts on this thread from you and others. For example, I have tins of Wilderness and Legend coming because although I was impressed by the reviews on TR.com - including yours - you gave me the impetus to do it now rather than wait. Pics are great if it is an unusual pipe not often seen, like my Ornsby or Gabrieli, but your descriptions allow me to paint mental pictures that I can then compare with the real ones that I see on Google. Long may it coninue!

(I also like to read the descriptions of what Jim is smoking and the details of his pipes. And not just Jim, but everybody)
