How are you liking the Redburn? I just got into some that has been in a jar for three years and the added flavoring is much more integrated with the leaf. I didn’t care for it fresh but now I’m digging it.
Thank you for the tip! 5 O'Clock Shadow was the same for me. I liked it a lot better after it sat in a jar awhile. This is my first tin of Redburn, and I've been smoking quite a bit of it, and I do like it. I was thinking of ordering some more, and if it gets better with age, why I'll throw some in a jar and see what happens down the road.

Starting off the New Year with Savinelli 140° in my 60th Birthday pipe, a virgin, sandblasted Savinelli Autograph Extraordinaire (Eccezionale) Fan*. Using the Savinelli IM Corona Briar Old Boy I picked up to pair with it.

*Full back story on this unique pipe here.
Jeff, I clicked the link and read the back story to how you acquired the pipe a couple of years ago. I really enjoyed it and cannot imagine how dear the pipe must be to you. Knowing myself, I am certain that I would have been very hesitant to smoke it for fear of changing it from it's pristine original condition. Yeah, I know, I know it's a pipe and it should be smoked, but it is so unique. Thanks for the link.

Oh, and I loved the justification line in there where you said, "Living through five complete twelve-year Chinese Zodiac Rabbit cycles seemed like a worthy thing to commemorate." Love it......

Thanks for taking the time to read about the pipe. It is very dear to me. I do baby it to keep it clean, but couldn’t justify it just being a paperweight—I do wear a white cotton glove while handling it and smoking it; as you might imagine, Michael Jackson jokes have been made, prompting me to create this animated GIF:
