Trying out Samuel Gawith Fire Dance Flake for the first time, in a Dr. Grabow Lark with my morning cup of tea.

My initial impression is that it's very, very good! Lots of stoved Virginia flavor with healthy portion of bright Virginia as well, accompanied by an uncommonly natural tasting blackberry juice topping along with a little bit of brandy and just a hint of vanilla. The base tobaccos and the toppings can all be tasted in good measure. The tin note is one of the best I've ever smelled, and the room note seems sure to please just about anyone. The solid medium strength nicotine content pleases me too.puffy

Went out to put horses up and Bob had gashed his leg open on something this afternoon, so my late afternoon smoke got interrupted and finished as an evening smoke.
Still running 5Bros/DBE breaking the new Ropp J11P in. This one’s a lighter reddish stain than the darkish walnut of the lost one.

Im now comparing HU Janneman and Peterson DNR in two different kai pipes that share about the same chamber size. There is definitely a difference but despite having different Virginia bases I do think they are more similar than different.

DNR is a bit more bready and fatter in flavor and I think has a touch more perique. I would not call it dark but it a little darker than Janneman. Also a little more complex

Janneman has Red Virginia and is a little more tangy and a little brighter overall.

Both are good but if I were stuck on a desert island and had only one choice of the two I think right now it would be DNR.

Both burn at around the same pace for me

I think Im going to play with this a little mixing it with another vaper and see what I get

Sheet of ice snow outside today. Got my music/kettlebell room pretty closed off with window cracked. Smoking Chenet’s cake in an Asteriou Potcano.

@Ben.R.C Yes still snow on the ground & icy roads here in England. Getting warmer next week. Been Viking axe throwing today at the Snake Room; just 2 Viking beers after - I don't want to feel too much like a Viking!
