I have this book! I absolutely love it, as I have absolutely loved Robert Hardy since his role as Siegfried in the 70s/80s rendition of All Creatures.

Damn, I thought I was hallucinating when that looked like him on that cover and thought no more of it.

C&D’s The Beast (original release) in a KB&B Marco Polo. Someone broke a few inches off the stem of this pipe but I think I like it better this way.

Most excellent! I hope you are able to harvest a nice section of yew. Once split, it could yield you 2 or 3 bows?
I am looking into buying a seasoned stave to avoid drying time.
Would love to hear of your progress.

Just finished feeding three ferals, Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger, and this bowl of year 2019 C&D Derringer in a late 1890s, early 1900s straight smooth brown unbranded billiard with an A&D silver cap and ferrule with a tapered amber stem and orific bit.

I must get a copy of that, I grew up watching him on British tv and film but was most impressed when I saw him testing long bows that had been brought up from the wreck of Henry VIII’s flagship the Mary Rose. The bows were so well preserved and there were so many that they actually tested some to breaking point and after 400+ years in the mud of the Solent they still had tremendous power in them. I’m sure that book will go into detail of that and I really look forward to reading about it. Thank you for the information, I’ll be searching online book retailers tomorrow

Really unique pipe! Love the spurs incorporated into the stem/ bowl transition. Does the bowl come off?
