Busy few days. Getting things lined for cataract surgery next tues. I live alone, so rides to and from had to be arranged. I'm cooking up lots of easy fix meals and freezing them. Trying to make everything as smooth as possible. Won't be posting for a while after, as they say not to stress your eyes. No smoke either. But I don't smoke every day anyway. For today however, I am smoking my all time favorite, Shepherd's Pie, in my rusticated Brigham. Good day all.View attachment 283885

Now smoking Wilke Edwin’s Burley in a post-WW2 straight smooth brown pre-Republic Peterson’s Dublin 3 Shamrock bulldog with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. This blend is Wall Street with much less perique (10%) than the regular W.S. Working and listening to Gunsmoke starring William Conrad.

5 Brothers in a clay, relaxing after dinner View attachment 283953
@Backwoods Briar Nice pipe and Five Brothers seems a popular baccy choice for a clay. A long stem clay is best for Jason the blacksmith to light with an ember from his forge:) Going to meet him at the Viking re-enactments at Cromford Mill and Elvaston Castle this year; I've told him I'll have my pipe ready!

Finished work for the day, fed Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger, and with any luck, my last smoke of the day will be year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. It all depends on how much time it takes dealing with the ferals. It's been raining for a while, and that causes extra work to get the ones who show up eat in peace.

Morning everyone, I started the day with PS Bullseye in a K Super Grain with shank logo, I’m really loving this blend and fortunately have some more on the way.
I’m getting ready to walk WeeBay with Dark Annie in the rusticated Yello Bole with yellow circle logo and Solani 633 in the other YB which is made of Algerian briar. I’ll finish my coffee first, Lavazza Rosso today. image.jpg

Finishing up some reading this morning and some leftover Evening Flake. Coffee black. And a quote out of the book.

“But experience is he best teacher, hunger good sauce, and I really think to be acquainted with misery contributes to the enjoyment of happiness, and to know one's self greatly facilitates the knowledge of mankind. One thing I often console myself with, and that is, the earth will lie as hard upon the monarch as it will upon the hunter, and I have no assurance that it will lie upon me at all. My bones may, in a few years, or perhaps days, be bleaching upon the plains in these regions, like many of my occupation, without a friend to turn even a turf upon them after a hungry wolf has finished his feast.”
