What method would you recommend to repair the start of a burnout in a briar

What method would you recommend to repair the start of a burnout in a briar

I know some use cigar ash and water to make a paste but if you replace the water with maple syrup you’d get a hard product after drying.

If you have a reptile ceramic heat bulb you can speed the process up, easily in a day. Gentle heat the pipe up under the bulb, not to close, but enough to heat the pipe up to the temp of smoking the pipe.

Forgot to add GH&Co Rum Flake to my Gawith thread so I just had a bowl in my Royal Danish 924M. This and my Stanwell Volcano are probably my two favorite smokers of all the cool pipes my dad passed on to me.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, snapper and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've about a third of a bowl left of Seattle Pipe Club Hogshead in a well appreciated medium bend, smooth brown 1950s Peterson 999 Dublin chubby Rhodesian with a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Time to clean a few pipes.
