You know it’s cold when the fast moving Humber River here in Toronto starts to freeze in front of your eyes. I’m not complaining, seems like it’s cold everywhere. I’ll take the cold as long as the sun is shining. Haven’t seen that in a while. Quick walk for Welly with my fantastic smoking Myon Air-Line pipe. I don’t know too much about it, other than Myon is an old French lighter company that had pipes made and branded for them. I doubt this was originally a Peterson System pipe, but likely was converted at some point. Enjoying some aged SPC Plum Pudding and hoping to get through it before Welly or I call uncle and retreat back to the warmth of the SUV.

Enjoyed a big and tasty Snap Dragon apple, and am passing the first third of this bowl of Wilke No. 24 in a smooth straight brown 1949 KBB Yello-Bole Century Model Lovat with a nickel band accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem. Have enough for a few more bowls. The unnamed striped cat has showed up twice today, but won't let me near it. It did last night, but Abner the Eager scared it away. Well, at least it knows I care enough to feed it. Maybe it'll get friendly in time.

I'm going to smoke opening night in a CPW large mahogany calabash.
After like 20 bowls, still I am not used to the smell of mahogany.
Sometimes it can enhance the smoke experience, but sometimes it just tastes weird.
I was looking at one of those meer calabash pipes by AKB Meer. I'm almost certain they are made from okume wood, which is an African wood now used as a substitute for Spanish cedar. Are you sure that is mahogany?

Did a bit of snacking, and am part way through this bowl of Wilke Hearth of Galway in an undated smooth straight medium brown made in France Saillard Lord Clerit lumberman with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Working and listening to one of my favorite radio shows: Information Please.
