Half way through this bowl of Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum. I may end the day with this smoke.

Smoking cautiously some SG Black XX Kendal Twist in a MM Short Stop, smallest 10 minutes bowl I got. Maybe last pipe before bed.
I miss Gitanes. Used to get it at local Tinderbox, but last time I checked, they don't sell it anymore. And now Tinderbox is gone too.
A few clicks and Gitanes Mais showed up in an online store 24 Dollars a package. So you still can get it.

951F706C-FB92-4DCC-9675-7A29A7E97BF2.jpegI smoke whatever I can grab here in SA. I’ve been to the fourth tobacconist yesterday. I bought the last pouch Davidoff Malawi dark Cavendish Pipe Tobacco, the last tin University Flake and pouch of another local brand Van Erkoms. It produces its blends from local Virginia and Burley grown under the hot sun. But I am sorry to say, I tried Fox, Jock and now a so called „Exclusive Mix“. But they all almost taste the same. Not to my liking.

Now I added a bit Perique to the Davidoff-Malawi and the Butterscotch aro with a lovely room note (my wife loves it) turns out very nice.

So beware if you’re ever visiting South Africa, put as much of your favourite blends in your pocket as allowed. Maybe it could be 250 Grams per person.

Yesterday's walk with another round of Who Knows What English Blend in the Nording Dublin. I picked up this blend last May, along with the pipe, but have not really been a fan of it. Since it been colder, most of what I've been smoking seems to have lost it's flavor. I'm not sure if that's from the cold weather and/or from walking (to cold to sit still). However, when I opened this jar the note just hit right and the Latakia flavor just seems perfect for a cold weather smoke. Has anyone else who smokes outdoors in cold climates experienced something similar?

Earlier in the day we went to the Van Gogh exhibition at the Detroit Institute of Arts with some friends. What an amazing experience that was and if it comes through your town, it's worth seeing. The opening painting is the chair with his pipe.

I went to the immersive exhibit in Las Vegas last year and it was awesome. I really enjoyed it and also recommend it to anyone that may be interested.

Good morning all. I'm just over 3 years in pipe smoking and I didn't really try cellaring any tobacco in the first year. Recently, I opened some HH Pure Virginia that I jarred some 18 months ago and really enjoyed it. Yesterday I opened some Sutliff 507-C Slices jarred 2 years ago and found that delicious as well. I will start my smoking day today with relatively fresh HH Burley Flake in a cob, then dive back into the 507-C for the rest of the day.
