I’ve got off today, so I’m staying up for another smoke. Going to have Peter Stokkebye PS41 Cube Cut in the very recently discontinued Missouri Meerschaum The Ryker [sic] Corn Cob (I actually snagged the last two in the Missouri Meerschaum Museum—one for me, another for a buddy). I was told this unofficial Star Trek: The Next Generation tribute pipe may return in the future, but, for now, they’re making room for new models.

Yesterday's walk with another round of Who Knows What English Blend in the Nording Dublin. I picked up this blend last May, along with the pipe, but have not really been a fan of it. Since it been colder, most of what I've been smoking seems to have lost it's flavor. I'm not sure if that's from the cold weather and/or from walking (to cold to sit still). However, when I opened this jar the note just hit right and the Latakia flavor just seems perfect for a cold weather smoke. Has anyone else who smokes outdoors in cold climates experienced something similar?

Earlier in the day we went to the Van Gogh exhibition at the Detroit Institute of Arts with some friends. What an amazing experience that was and if it comes through your town, it's worth seeing. The opening painting is the chair with his pipe.

Nice. I've wanted to check out the Van Gogh exhibit while it's here but my daughter is a little young to go (let alone appreciate it).

As for your question, Latakia has a heavier mouth feel for me (along with thoughts of warming yourself by a fire), making it a more frequent winter blend.
