This pipe was made for Ted's pipe shop in Tulsa Ok. not as a basket pipe but by American pipemaker Virgil Re from Milwaukee in 1987. After his retirement he purchased pipe making equipment from the out of business Marxman Company, he sold exclusively to pipe shops putting there brand on each pipe.
The man who owns the pipe shop today double struck the dies when he put the shop mark on this pipe long ago when he was a kid. You should have seen the smile on face when I showed him this pipe.
