Moving day is done and I don’t think any damage has been done to this old body. I’m home safe and sound, quietly celebrating with a bowl of Dark Twist in a meer.

Moving away from older pipes for a while and concentrating on typical modern examples bought new from pipe shops in London during the 1970s and 1980s when I was in my teens and twenties (except for two - a Savinelli bought in Lancashire near my school and a Dupont bought during a summer holiday in Cannes).
Most of those shops are now gone including Astleys, H. Simmons, Charatan, Sullivan Powell, Inderwick & Co., G. Smith & Sons, Fribourg & Treyer, Bewlays and Peterson's.
Harrods and Davidoff are obviously still operating.
As for Dunhill - I've read that their flagship store in Jermyn Street, where I used to go every Saturday, no longer sells pipes and tobacco and that they now concentrate on clothing.
Not sure about the current status of Robert Lewis and J. J. Fox.
