During our Saturday ZOOM meeting, with my pipe smoking friends, I enjoyed bowl of Samovar in my Castello KKKK Sea Rock 49 Calabash. A tumbler of Honey Jack and Peach/Mango Green Tea, filled with bergs, slaked my thirst.

Rare bout of insomnia has me up. I’m making good use of it, smoking some Full Virginia Flake in a Altinay bent billiard meer.

Happy New Year everyone.

Smoked my first pipe of the year in my straight Peterson Dublin. First time smoking Dunhill Ye Olde Signe with some cinnamon coffee.

I thought a bowl of porridge would be sufficient beforehand but I was wrong. It's really hit me now I'm walking into work.

Not the best of starts.

About a quarter of a bowl left of Wilke Lizzie Blood Red English in a 2003 medium bent Ural meer with a lined and etched egg shaped bowl with a silver band and a pearl brown acrylic stem. Then, sleep with any luck.

How’s that 2019 treating you, brother? I’ve literally only smoked one bowl and I didn’t dry it enough. Mine was a bitch to light and keep going, but when it did smolder it was soooo good.

This was my first bowl and it is pretty darn good. I hate that I missed out on grabbing some for the cellar when this was available.

Unlike what appears to be almost standardised Calabash sizes in the modern era (1980s - present) judging from my few examples there was a time when all tastes were catered for back in the early 20th cent. - from the dainty to the chunky and all sizes in between

I’ve seen a late 19C five day set and each graduated in size from a great big-un to a tiddler, if I’d had a spare $900 laying around I’d have got them. I promised myself no more pipes but I might have to get one. You know, just in case........

I got through a whole bowl of Kendal No13 (coffee) while going through all the the posts this morning. Now I’m enjoying Charatan 3yr with about 20% Coniston Plug in a MM Marcus, coffee and a slice of my date walnut cake on the side.
