Finally got the chance to sit down with some of Adrien Stricklin's On the Square blend loaded into a meer with some Earl Grey alongside. Fresh-brewed black coffee is the first thing that comes to my mind with this tobacco. Not the bitter and burnt break room stuff or the bland, one-note chain cafe stuff, but the rich, earthy, slightly sweet, slightly tangy flavor of a good bean that's been roasted well. I'm still at the top of the first bowl and my impressions are likely to change, but it's clear that Adrien has a talent for complexity.
