Thanks to a friend, I am smoking 1947 Sir Walter Raleigh in a beater 1979 Aalborg natural freehand made by Nording. And drinking hot tea, courtesy of the wife's grocery shopping. But I'm doing my part: I lit my own pipe!

I smoked a bowl full of Sutliff #5 during an hour long drive today and enjoyed it greatly. Last night had Tinder Box's Sherlock's Choice. It was good, but strong and seemed to have a lot of Nicotine in it. I started smoking thinking I would like the aromatic tobaccos but have been surprised how much I like the English styles. Will be having the Sutliff Maple Street here shortly for an aromatic change of pace.

Cigrmaster, that Ruthenberg bent apple is a beauty!
I'm smoking my first bowl of Pelican in my much maligned Amadeus straight pot pipe. I just opened up the draft a bit today so it's a good test.

So far i like the Pelican okay but nothing to write home about.
