Having Sutliff Aromatic English for the first time (?) in a well-loved H.I.S. rusticated Lovat. This is so familiar to me that I’m suspecting it to be the first blend I smoked in the early 90’s which I acquired at a local, now-gone, proper B&M. I would forget the store name of the blend and pick it out by smell each time. Lovely afternoon and some lovely memories.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am half way through this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Coffee from a freshly opened bag of Gold Star Cafe 645, neat, is my drink. Going to be another busy day.

The last of my Dunhill Nightcap packed in a Greywoodie, feeling like some aros so this is the next month or two selection.

-Cult blood red moon: I've liked this since it came out, and I bought a bunch back then,,,,the scent always reminds me a hubba bubba chewing gum, or some other gum from my childhood...

-Boswell's Christmas Cookie: I like this stuff in the winter, leaves a nice scent in the air.

-SPC Plum Pudding: Another one that I bought a lot of when it came out.

-SGT John Bull: simply because I know I'll crave a nice english during this aro kick...

C&D Eight State Burley, with black coffee, in a Dunhill Group 5 Dublin model #5105 Bruyere, 1985.

Just took the time to date it, several years after purchase. Restorationist guessed late '70s. Irony in the Dunhill dating difficulties is I bought what was represented to be a 1985 Zulu Dunhill group 3, which was to be my high school graduation year pipe, but she was off by a decade. My supposed birth year Dunhill was off by 9 years, too. By pure accident, a pipe that just looked like a great restoration job on a nice pipe turned out to be my high school graduation year. Little victories, as they say. Now, I just need Dunhills from undergrad, professional school, year I got my first car, lost my virginity, made partner, got my first Doberman, my first cat, first had shrimp and grits...you know, all the big life stuff. I'm sure I can find something for every year, can't I?

Well done on the Plum Pudding.

And I bow before your beard, Sir! I can't handle one that length on a motorcycle going at...um...never over the maximum legal speed, but that is some glorious chin cabbage. Popcorn Sutton's ghost said to tell you he approves!
