Having a small bowl of this in a Former/Eltang apple.

SPC Plum Pudding Bourbon Barrel Aged -

Never really been one for the liquor topping but this blend is changing my mind. These are all the tins I have and they fit very loosely in an XL mason jar, eager to see if this guy ages well or not. Definitely not sure I'll be able to resist smoking it for 12-18 months...

I might have been a bit hard on the McLintock Black C earlier (can’t call it cherry anymore because ten year olds will start smoking pipes apparently, pc foolishness going too far as usual), it definitely improves at the halfway mark when the coffee starts to come through. We’re having a very cold spot and I’m enjoying the 1792 in a Nording Sailor at the moment.

Beautiful Birdseye in that pipe. It may be my imagination but I think Birdseye pipes break in faster then straight grains as they are more absorbant.

So I had this pipe I was ready to buy. I've wanted it for a long time. I have been working pretty hard the past week to collect the money. Was all set to order it tomorrow when I get paid, and.... I drop my cell phone and the screen breaks! So $65 later, with a new phone, I have to put my pipe dreams on hold. Hopefully just for a couple of days. She will be mine. Hopefully. ?

Drowning my first-world, semi-sorrows with C&D Burley Flake #1 in a Stanwell billiard.

The day they make new phones as indestructible as a Nokia 3310 will be a fantastic day. Hope the pipe is yours soon. I’m waiting on one in the post. Beyond excited.

I'm not going to smoke a 19th cent. churchwarden - as I just know I'd break it sooner or later and that would pain me - but I've smoked later examples from the 1950s out of the Southorn & Co. works before they closed down in 1960. In truth they look better 'discoloured'.

Three from the 1950s by W. Southorn & Co.:-
