not sure this counts but there’s a really good online chess tournament this weekend with essentially all the worlds best Grandmasters competing. It’s a rapid chess format so faster and more “exciting” than classic chess. Multiple streams on youtube. My favorite commentating team is GM David Howell and IM Javonka Houska. That stream is here.

2011 MB Norwood in my Stanwell 32. I stripped the finish of coconut oil to try out my new micro-mesh sending pads. After running from 4500-12000, reapplied the coconut oil. Looking for pretty sharp now. I’ll let the oil soak in after a heat up smoke for a few days and then put a couple coats of paragon on it. Pretty happy with this experiment on a cheap pipe, that turned out to be a great smoker.

Also did some research and found that 100% coconut oil/unscented, is extremely resistant to going rancid. Gets used on butcher blocks by many.

Driving and smoking Granger in these Chopped Falcons with Meer Bowls. I modded these because I find Falcons are too long. Well, there’s nothing a hacksaw and epoxy can’t solve.

I have four bowls loaded for the big Bowl. A ‘22 Masta with my Cherry/Choc blend, a Barling Sovereign with Peterson 2019 special reserve, a Donegal Rocky Bulldog with Navy Rolls, and a Eagle claw meer with Pirate Kake for the finale. Hotdogs (Chicago style), nachos, bourbon and a shit load of Old Speckled Hen ale. I’m gonna enjoying this game!

Smoking some scrap jar mix, mostly Orientals, burley, and the tail end of a jar of Old Professor, in my Medico VFQ squat bulldog. I'm at my uncle's house for the superbowl so I have to smoke outside, it warmed up to a balmy -24° in the sunshine. I'm not a big sportball fan, but it's as good of an excuse as any to drink beer and eat chicken wings.
