Wow, good eye. Forgive me then, I've never seen a meer like that. Looks like a beautifully sandblasted black stained briar. I would love to hear the story of that pipe.

Had a snack, and am half way through this bowl of year 2014 HU Directors Cut in a smooth straight Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad.
Smoking some C&D Bayou Morning in the Savenelli 111KS Elaganza after enjoying a couple of pints of Monteiths Golden with some mates.

Now smoking Wilke No. 111 in a smooth medium bend post-WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock Killarney 9BC with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Watching Mannix.
Trying a sample of my attempt at a Pembroke/Cognac Mixture "match" blend (BSOSM Match topped with Raynal VSOP, jarred for 3 months). I didn't expect a perfect match, but I'm fairly surprised by the results. It's well in the ballpark.
Last smoke of the day is Sutliff Burley Delight #212 in a medium bend black sandblasted IPSD 2016 Mark Tinsky book keeper 5 with a square shank and a black acrylic saddle stem with a cream colored accent.

I'm at the grandparent's house in Ireland for the week and they have a nice smoking conservatory! Enjoyed a bowl of Germain's 1820 Flake last night in my Castello KK Natural Vergin Canadian.
Newminster 400 Superior Navy Flake in a Kaywoodie Flame Grain lovat. Third bowl of this stuff and the best one yet-- very mysterious topping. After this will be more Two Timer Gold and then probably some Rimboche before bed.
