I can relate. I have a GSD. Awesome dogs that will give up their lives to save you but let a rain storm come or take them to the vet and they turn into sissies.
Anyway, starting the evening off with some Happy Brown Bogie
Really? Didn't know that.
I really had no intention of getting a dog but an inquiry out of idle curiosity earned a barrage of calls & emails. So I went to view him then make excuses to shut them up.
Wookie had been isolated & beaten all his life. So naturally he's not too fond of people. He'd been saved once from death row & now I was his last chance.
He was so reactive that he was kenneled away from the other dogs, all alone.
I couldn't leave him there. He's a great dog who has come a long way in 4 months. He still doesn't like people but at least he no longer lunges for the throat of every passer-by, as long as they don't get too close.
German Shepherds typically give a warning. Not Wookie. From zero straight for the throat. Scary.
He's a very confident dog who goes towards sudden loud noises so I was quite surprised that he was frightened of storms. He's also learnt not to piss off wasps. But that's just being sensible, lol.
