13 year Escudo in a Stanwell lovat.

Putting some of the stash away in mason jars, to return to later. Sometimes new acquisitions need a few months away in solitary confinement to get their act together.

That, is interesting. Silver coins in the jars? To help prevent mold? I have been shredding some of my own organic leaf adding some apple skins for a few days to hydrate and infuse a little flavor. Been working well till this week with about 1/3 jar remaining tobacco had white mold. Seriously disappointing. Think a silver coin will mitigate that? We use it in our Berkey for water. Hmmmmm

Last smoke of the day is year 2020 Angler's Dream in a 1984 Stanwell Antique 124 egg with a smooth brown front and a black sandblasted back with a dark gold ferrule and black vulcanite stem in the military mount style. Fed everybody but Daisy the Feral Princess. Dunno why she didn't want to come in. Harry the Hairy is back in the kitchen. Tomato the Brave went out.

Smoking the HU Tobacco "Night Owl" from the "Homage to my Friends" series tonight in Nording Compass.
Hans Wiedemann, the man behind HU Tobacco, started blending long before the brand existed. He created personal mixtures for his pipe-smoking friends, and the feedback was so good that it led to the official launch at the Lohmar Pipeshow in 2011. The "Homage to my Friends" line is basically those original recipes, produced in cooperation with Kohlhase & Kopp.
Night Owl is a pressed Virginia/Burley/Perique with a touch of Kentucky — nutty and earthy from the Burley, sweet from the VA, spicy from Perique, and a subtle smoky note from the Kentucky. Medium strength, cool burn, no bite. On TobaccoReviews it sits around 3.5/4 — most call it balanced and contemplative, perfect for late evenings. If you like Haunted Bookshop but want something a bit smoother and more complex, give it a try.

Not silver. Those are just humidifiers. A/C is on most days of the year in south Texas, so tobacco dries out in a hurry when jars get opened.
