Part way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. It's time to feed the cats. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

The masterpiece that is C&D Pegasus in an IMP Meer while we plan our Christmas meal plans. There is a rule in my kitchen, no special accommodations for picky eaters. That includes vegetarians. Eat grass, carrots, tofu, I don’t really care, you’re on your own. Allergies are exempt from this rule. I don’t want to hurt you.
I grew up with a simple philosophy of eating, this is the food that someone cooked, eat it or be hungry. Complain and get smacked upside your head. Worked for me and worked for the kids. We all can eat like raccoons or Cajuns, meaning we will eat anything if need be. Rant over.

G&H Dark Plug Unscented in a clay. Shortest day of the year, and a ridiculously mild 48° outside early this evening. Brought in some roses in bud - can you believe it, this time of year? Noticed them outside my bedroom window this morning, and thought best to bring them in before they get frosted overnight. And that's the last of the Dark Plug... do I buy more, and displease Mrs. Badger? Oh, I think so And a happy Winter Solstice and/or feast of St Thomas the Apostle, to those who celebrate. There's a vibrant stillness in the air, as if of anticipation. I always begin to feel it, this time of year.

Steddy, I can sure relate to you philosophy on eating. I grew up with much the same rules.
Love the comment on the raccoons and Cajuns, ha.

Oh, and love the choice on the tobacco and the IMP.

Did a set of walking reps under cloudy, windy skies, and am close to finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. When I got to the deck, Harry the Hairy came up to me for a head scratch and back rub. Daisy the Feral Princess did the same. Tomato the Brave got jealous and "yipped" as he stuck his head up in the air. All three followed me inside for a little more snacking after they had their earlier meal.

The “atmospheric river” that is moving thru the PNW is here. Been raining since midnight and is forecasted to continue until tomorrow late morning.
I’m in the garage smoking some Watch City, Kringle Koncoction in a Peterson Derry 106. A mug of Organic Earl Grey with cardamom.
It’s my second smoke of this Christmas offering. This is definitely making it on the “nice” list.
A wonderfully nuanced blend with some great flavors playing off each other.
I keep thinking of a nice warm, spiced red wine with some honey.
The Izmir Cavendish and Perique proportions combined with the Simply Red
create a smooth, balanced, flavorful Koncoction.

This reminded me of my Grandpa Mac. He was a cook in the civilian conservation corps CCC and raised to appreciate what he had. He didn’t suffer food complaints.
He would say, if you don’t want “this”, you can have some “Poke-roll and grit”. Poke your feet under the table , roll your eyes and grit your teeth, and you might get something to eat now”
I sure miss that man.
