Braved the Christmas shopping crowds to take Mrs. Badger out for an early pre-birthday lunch at The Fish House in Ludlow before it closes for the rest of the year: oysters, smoked eels, smoked trout, smoked salmon, gravadlax and a bottle of Picpoul de Pinet. Then round the market followed by a warm-up of coffee and a glass of rum in the Rose And Crown, then home to smoke a clay of Black Irish XXX in the greenhouse among the broad beans. No photo as the light was failing. Hope your Saturday is as good. :)

Well I was having a relaxing bowl of BF#1 and Cigar leaf in my Meerschaum and drinking some sweet tea, but then my one boy jumped into a mud puddle and my other boy dumped a cup of dirt into my sweet tea. It was a disaster smoke. Didn't last long. Didn't even take a picture. Lol will have to try again in a bit. Gotta go clean these kids up and find their Mama so I can get some peace

Half way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed all the cats except for Tomato the Brave. M'lady called to him, but Tomato didn't come. I haven't written about this until now because I wasn't sure that I was right, but a feral is somewhere around here. I've been noticing lately that the ferals have that "look" that territorial cats give when something different is around. I didn't see it, but m'lady did when she saw Tomato run off when she called her. She said that the feral Tomato was chasing looked half like Harry the Hairy and orange and white like the other stray that shows up somewhere around the neighborhood once in a blue moon. This one has a white spot on its forehead. Guess maybe I'll be seeing it one of these days. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

I like this one
It’s only my second bowl of Northwoods. I’m undecided about this blend but want to give it several more bowls before reaching any conclusions. I understand it to be an English “crossover” blend, and so far, it burns nicely with a normal amount of relights but I’m finding the topping may make it a bit too sweet and aromatic for my tastes, which admittedly skew in favor of natural tobacco, English, Balkan, Virginias, and VaPers, without much added flavorings. I only bought 4 oz to try, so science demands I soldier on!
