G'morning, or Afternoon, as the case may be. Faced with the angst of either updating the new computer, or losing the superior older versions of favourite apps. I choose not updating because, to my mind at least, change at present is for the sake of change. Biggest problem is having to use Firefox rather than Brave. It's inferior in security, but again, I'd lose my programs. So I'll wallow in retroland until I can't. That's my daily rant.

Today's smokes so far: I'll cover the rest in Skippable Drivel so those of you who wish can explore the perhaps somewhat bizarre recesses of my logic.

Yeah, I figured the snap would be somewhat greenish. I'll work on it. But in any case, my somewhat typical AM smoke - MM Minicob with my own burley heavy "Cherry English", and a cheap flavoured cigar, on this day a Frontier "Honey Berry", a shameless ripoff of the Backwood's package wrapped products. As I doubt there is one cigar smoker on the forum that does anything but roll their eyes and wince at my choice in their domain, let's get to . . . .

Skippable Drivel , , , , , so you can rush to the next post.

The past days' focus on pipsqueaks was not without reason. It's all about establishing rotation. I've kept track of others on the forum who have a rotation, and they say it's a difficult task until it's done. Agreed.

I view rotation like snacking when you're out hunting and fishing. You don't have a real meal, but nibble on whatever suits the moment. Maybe you want a cookie. so you go to your pack. Maybe you want to nibble on a small handful of trailmix, or a small pack of peanuts. If you are serious about hunting or fishing, you're simply not going to unpack a picnic basket and prepare a full meal. So you chew.

Thus, I "nibble" on small stuff and small pipes throughout the day, unless I have the time to take time to prepare the "full meal deal.", which at home might be once or twice a day, twice if I have company.

That's when the "big guns" come out and I enjoy a smoke that'll last between 45 minutes and a couple of hours. So I always want to have a pipe in my rotation that suits the time span of the smoke I'm about to have. And delivers the flavour I've come to expect from each chosen tobacco.

And I want to make sure that I have suitable biased or dedicated pipes in my rotation that I have partitioned into four categories: Englishes, Balkans, Orientals and Aromatics. Some tobacco dedicated, some genre dedicated. And I want to know that each pipe delivers the taste I expect from the tobacco, from the pipesqueeks to the trenches.

If the pipe doesn't come up to "snuff" (pun intended) I get rid of it. And I'm pretty ruthless. Only one of the pipsqueeks didn't pass the grade and it is no longer in my possession.

So there it is, if you're still with me. If not and you're on the next post, I can't say as I blame you lol . . . . :ROFLMAO:

Have a great Tuesday, eh?:col:

Earlier, I smoked a bowl of year 2019 C&D Derringer in a straight smooth brown 1920s (Comoy’s) Lions Head 399 Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Currently, I've passed the half way mark of this bowl of year 2013 Capstan Blue Flake in a smooth dark brown post-WWII Comoy’s Grand Slam 340 patent billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Spent the time being interviewed about pipe tobacco and comic books.

Almost a quarter of the way through this bowl of Watch City Jim’s Golden Ticket in a straight smooth brown mid-late 60s Corporate Era Barling 5579 London England (made by Charatan) lumberman with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Tomato the Brave finally showed up a couple of minutes ago, and is making up for lost eating time. Harry the Hairy has been snoozin' under the kitchen table for hours. Daisy the Feral Princess has been snoozin' in a heated cat house. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Molly Danger has been quiet all day snoozin' on m'lady's chair.
