Taking a cold coffee break and a couple of slices of ryecrisp with banana and chopped raw cashews. Just about finished my AGM report for tonight's meeting, so fiddling at the computer (I was anyway) and, as I had the photo and pipes lying around from the other day, did a re-smoke this morning of the same thing. Backwoods Buttered Rum (my favourite of that mongrel breed) in a McQ miniature, and my home mix Cherry Balkan in the Falcon. The mix is getting a minor but needed overhaul in the next batch. Too much lat overwhelming the cherry. For those of you interested, Catp Black Cherry Cavendish by itself is a la coughdrop intensity. But it's a great mixer. Gussied up the picture in holiday garb.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am half way through this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Lavazza Classico, neat, is my drink.

This along with the Caporal Export are my very favorite among tabacs brun francaises, this St Claude has a bit of Virginias in it yet slightly topped with tonka has broader cut than Caporal. As a side note, all of these Tabac Gris*(/Dark shag cut) are done by Barens company and the quality has been up since they took over the production, now it remains to see what will happen to these traditional blends when STG takes over

Absolutely, one of the few blends that have been improved by the danes. And it is one of the cheapest available here in France.

I've had it for about 3 years. No more pipes, on a fixed income now.

Thank you. I found the original 1890s design on the web, downloaded and printed it, and stuck it on an old repurposed tin. I work as a costumed interpreter at a heritage farm showing farming life circa 1900, and this is also why most of my pipes will pass muster as Victorian. I like to get the details right.
That’s neat
