Another afternoon pruning apple trees and sawing logs for seasoning... so, a break with the Peterson Irish Army 999 and Peterson's Irish Cask with a little MacBaren's HH Old Dark Fired in the bottom, plus a mug of rooibos. I was joined by the neighbour's cat, Little Miss (as Warrior Princess Cassie wasn't there to chase her away). Little Miss is an utter tart: she would have me believe that she loves me most in the whole world, but it was only because her feet were cold. Anyway, she didn't stay long on my lap: I think it's the Perique she dislikes. Next time, I'll see if she prefers the Old Dark Flake on its own.

Starting off my smoking day with a bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. One of these days I may pick something different for a first smoke to see if anybody gets a fainting spell. :)

Went in to get my coffee this morning and found a package on the porch. Must have showed up last night and i missed it due to my late arrival and direct path from truck to smoking lounge. So, after a little Pegasus in a Fatih to get the day going, i unboxed this and am happy to try a new medium. Never had an olive wood before.

Inaugural smoke: Sav 145th Anniversary in the Rattray's olive wood Butcher Boy.

The shorter stem has an inclusion which is inhibiting air flow, so i'll smoke the longer stem this time around and give that some attention in the shop later today.
