Inspired by @ashdigger ’s thread showing his Peterson Pipes that were “Made in England” (Rugby Style), I decided to have Samuel Gawith Squadron Leader in a Peterson 9BC Sterling Billiard that was made in England (that he gifted me earlier this year). The Sterling line formally debuted as a Rogers Imports line in the US in the early ’50s—this pipe is probably from 1953–1958.

I don’t need to buy tobacco… but I do peruse the adds that the vendors put up now and again with 15-20% off.

Tobaccopipes had Sutliff at 15% off, didn’t really see anything I needed. I stumbled across 200 Red Wine. Sorta piqued my interest.

It arrived this morning. There was a little bit of moisture to the tobacco, but not overly wet. The scent was not too strong, but noticeable.

This is a Captain Black Grape match. Not as gooey nor quite as overwhelming grape, but it still has a noticeable grape flavor. The tobacco flavors come through well. I kinda prefer it to CBG as a matter of fact.

So if you’re Jonesin for CBG give this a try. It’s something I like now and again.

Smoking it in a Old Dominon Laughing King cob.

I am smoking the first of my SS tins. This is Dunhill Ye Olde Signe, a dark Va blend that is discontinued since it never made it to the Peterson re-issues. This is more gentle and refined than Derringer but very tasty. I like the tea-like flavors and it packs well and needs few relights. I think this will age really well.
Thanks again, Tom! You hit the nail on the head.
Drinking iced tea.

I have a tin of the same stuff, it’s 4/5 years old. Looking forward to opening it up

Did a set of walking reps on this cold, sunny day, and am close to finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in an undated straight brush etched black Molina apple with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Lunch follows this smoke.
