Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm almost a third of the way through this bowl of year 2018 Solani 633 in a straight 1954 patent Dunhill 148 Group 3 black shell bulldog made for the France market with a black saddle vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Earlier this evening, a bowl of Country Squire Cherokee with a stand or two of Newminser 400 Navy flake to take the edge off, (I find Cherokee stronger than my usuals), in the Barontini 1/2 spigot bent billiard with 9mm filter. A great smoke with some cherry flavoring.

But tonight a 1/2 bowl of dried out Old Toby in the Irish Second XL339S (bent dutch saddle stem) which I am learning to smoke. I say learning because it has an immense draw and the slightest draw produces billows of smoke. So I packed tighter and drew slower but its still a learning process. Its chamber collects a lot of condensation to be flicked out. But ... every strand of tobacco can be tasted, I think due to its design and open airflow. All of my other pipes smoke the same but this one is a unique and different experience entirely. Its airflow is like twice that of a cob ...for now. Still learning it nuances.
