This is exactly what I am confused about recently. My clay pipe can hardly be cleaned because the draught hole is too small. After several unsuccessful attempts, I threw it into the ultrasonic cleaner for vinyl records

Ultrasonic cleaning sounds like a good option. Did it work?

Did you try running a piece of wire through it? Baking and the use of fire have also been used to clean them.

Clays have never been my favorite kind of pipe to smoke, but they might be the most fun to clean.

Good day all! Starting from a freshly opened tin of Peterson Flake in a small Upshall sandblast Bulldog with smooth rim and hex shank with saddle stem size 4.

I decided to mix it up a little today.
An even 25% mix of:
C&D Yorktown 2017
C&D Bright Virginia 2021
C&D Blk Cav 2021
MB ODF RR 2021
In the KW Billiard Meer.
So far this is a nice, easy smoking mix. Very smooth. Subtle smoky flavor from the ODF and some subtle sweet notes from the Virginia. The Blk Cav seems to just melt in there somewhere. Overall, very enjoyable. I’ll definitely revisit this mix.

C&D Visions of Celephais in my MM Hardwood. I packed this one two or three days ago to see what impact extra drying might make on the topping. Not a huge one that I can tell. It’s overcast and damp outside, but just warm enough to satisfy me.

Half way through this bowl of year 2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Just fed ferals, Suzy and Molly.

Baking means putting it in the oven to bake for a while? What temperature and time are appropriate? Thank you for your tips！

Rebar wire my iron worker son uses, works for my old German tavern clay pipe. Never had to bake it. Good luck

Sillem's Blue in this curious little dublin I cleaned up today from my father's pipe collection. Seemed natural to me to put a curious aromatic into a curious pipe. Using underscores for unintelligible letters, the only stamp on the pipe reads :
MA _ _ IED BRIAR or possibly MA_RIED BRIAR. anyone have any ideas? Pipe is probably from the 60s give or take a few years. Starting Chapter 7 in "Back from the Ashes"

As I look at your photo, I see a the word MATCHED.
The second letter appears to be a “A”?
