It is, but it doesn't have the depth or the dark fruit that the older version had.

Gawith Hoggarth Kendal #7 in a corn cob. Starting my tasting journey of the various blends from them that I can get my hands on right now. Planning on smoking Dark Bird's Eye shag cut next.
1/2 bowl of TCS Old Toby in an E. Burak Connoisseur full bent billiard, 20mmx40mm chamber, same shape as Sav 614KS but natural golden blond/honey color. I bought this pipe directly from Ed Burak one day on a business trip to NYC in the late 80's when I had forgotten to bring my pipe with me. I didn't know anything about him or his history at the time being young and fairly new to pipe smoking. I always thought this pipe smoked hot but tonight I packed it a bit tighter and let the ember die down after lighting and slow sipped a perfect 1/2 bowl. I noticed the fishtail stem is perfectly angled to release the smoke into the center of the mouth without aiming at tongue or roof or throat. It really is a perfectly designed pipe and delivers a wonderful smoke. And its apparently worth more now used than what I paid for it new ! Not that I'm planning on selling anytime soon

A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2020 D&R Raccoon’s Delight in my very reliable smooth straight post-1938 pre-Republic Peterson Sterling Canadian 263 with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Off to work now. Going to listen to unedited radio episodes of You Bet Your Life.
I don’t taste chocolate, very subtle if any to me. Mainly straight tobacco flavor. I would recommend another blend if you have a hankering for the chocolate taste.

Now smoking Wilke No. 72 in a pre-1974 dark brown straight Larus & Brother Co. Signature billiard with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem with the initials LCR on the top of the stem. This blend was smoked by Walter Cronkite. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
Smoking the greatest blend of all time which, as we all know, is sir Walter Raleigh regular in my AGovem meer. 
I finished that bowl of Suliff ERR Match from yesterday, and decided I needed something a little spicier next. So WhiteKnight in my Grabow bulldog it is. Perfect. 
I loaded up a pipe of Briar Fox. I like it better than Cringle Flake. Not sure what that says about me, but it is true. Good night gents and ladies.

Had 2 bowls of Cringle Flake '22 last night. First from my Dunhill 120, I've got to say that pipe is quite remarkable. The second from a Dunhill 196 birth year pipe.
Half way through this bowl of Wilke High Hat in an undated black sandblasted straight made in France Silvermatch Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem.
After spending some hectic Christmas days behind the wheel I'm back in business with a bowlful of Mc Barens HH Burley Flake rubbed out in an Ashton XX Pebble grain Long Canadian
