Now smoking year 2022 Esoterica Tilbury in a 1978 slight bend CAO Turk's Head Meer with a yellow cream swirl acrylic tapered stem. Haven't smoked this meer in a while. I'm comparing the latest batch of Tilbury to the last couple of batches, which went overboard with the apricot topping. Looks like I'll have to add an update to my review. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Country Squire Old Toby in my Barontini 1/2 spigot with 9mm filter. Love that vanilla, molasses flavor ! This is the pipe that used to get too hot to hold. Well ... not in this weather !

Going to have Esoterica Pembroke (2021) in a small no name Meerschaum Lattice Author. The chamber is very shallow, probably half the depth of an average pipe. It’s super light. I’m not a clencher, but, it would be great if I was.

Just passing the quarter mark on this bowl of year 2013 Capstan Blue Ready Rubbed in a smooth dark brown post-WWII Comoy’s Grand Slam 340 patent billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Just had my first bowl of Sutliff Match Victorian (in my Peterson 80s bulldog) while sweeping up some light snow and topping off the tires on my wife’s car. I’m a fan!


Having read the reviews, I can’t help but think of JimInks’s wife’s objections to the blend. Have you ever been able to put your finger on why Elizabethan, and not others, Jim?

I figured it was the floral content. M'lady has complained about a few heavy Lat blends, but I smoke them anyway when I feel like it or need to smoke up open inventory.

Warmed up to 15 deg F and decided I really did want to have a 'first smoke' in my newly received Schowa Select Dublin. Had a dilemma for what to smoke first in this danish-style, German-made pipe, so... when in doubt: Royal Yacht. It was a good choice. Paired with generously-spiked decaf au eggnog. Both went quick. Now back inside by the fire!
