The Christmas lunch has finally settled and my digestive system is somewhat back to normal again.
The last of the Christmas guests (2 of my wife's 3 sisters) have departed, and I'm settled into the peace of the front porch. Not quiet because of the large flock of raucous sulphur-crested cockatoos squawking all about. One of the aspects of living in a bushland setting that I love.

About to light a small bowl of Germain's Royal Jersey Perique

In a 1913 Barling's make Opera with army mount stem, orific bit. The ferrule has been glued on in an over-clocked position and I've been procrastinating about correcting it. It'll have to wait until it starts to get on my nerves.

With it a just opened bottle of 1988 Ragnaud-Sabourin Grande Champagne cognac. Just the drink for this cool, autumn-ish dayimage.jpgimage.jpg

After the 1st bowl of Germain's Royal Jersey Perique in a Barling's Opera. The short smoke lasted just over 20 mins - well-suited for an smoke during a concert or theatre interval - Not that we are allowed to smoke in theatre foyers these days.

A 2nd bowl of Esoterica Stonehenge

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and snow peas dinner with several pieces of m'lady's freshly made baklava for dessert. I just finished smoking year 2016 Newminister 400 in a straight smooth brown year 1948 Parker Super Bruyere patent 23 88/F bulldog with a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Smoking a bowl of mostly PS Luxury Navy Flake and some left over University Flake bits.

Made a new acquaintance on the front patio.

The photo doesn't do justice to its size, but just a common black house spider.

(Well it is sitting on the face of a step which would be 7-8 inches high)

Wait, this is in Oz, which has more species of poisonous beasties than the rest of the world put together ?

I'd be calling in the pest exterminators pronto
After I pee in my pants ?
