Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2013 Dunhill Flake in a straight smooth 1960 Dunhill DRA 137 group 4 root briar canted dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching an episode of The Untouchables.

First bowl of the day.

A pipe buddy came over yesterday and we had such a great time that I neglected to record what we were smoking.

A bowl of Druquer's Red Lion
In a 1910 straight billiard with army mount Amber stem, orific bit. Birmingham hallmarked Josrph B. Brown, importer of tobacconist goods, Hull.

With a glass of 50yo Henriques&Henriques Tinta Negra Madeira. Tinta Negra is the ubiquitous vine that was planted after phylloxera ravaged the island and usually used for blending. This was from an exceptional vat deemed too good for blending and was bottled on its own.

SPC PP Barrel Aged in a Savinelli Xmas 606 KS. Decided to smoke “English” blend in the pipe…courtesy of another member - I will always use this pipe at Christmas time…and start that season in September. Why? Simply to increase the amount of time I can spread Christmas cheer. I’m guessing I may place it in a highly visible shelved location which maintains the appropriate lighting to encourage year-round thoughts of generosity.

Anyway - I will share a picture someday…just not today. Sometimes simple things and acts of kindness launch actions that domino. May it carry forward always. ?

Peace.

I forgot to mention - Bombay Sapphire dirty martini (dry - stirred) goes excellent with an English blend. Crazy - Gin - Christmas tree juice by winter - lime drink by summer. Such a versatile spirit. Anyway - just had to plug a quality cocktail - so, for the cocktail doers - a spread of holiday cheer. Do it. It’s good.

A third of the way through this bowl of Watch City Rhythm & Blues in a straight smooth brown 1920s-30s Sasieni patent 8 dot Marborough lovat with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Listening to Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel BBC recreations of the old Groucho and Chico radio series as I work.
