Afternoon everyone, I got a sampler of whole leaf tobacco today thanks to a good friend on the forum that shipped it. I’m excited to start trying my own blends but I need to school myself first because I know bugger all about it.
Started the day with Magnum Opus in a 1960’s Donegal Rocky Bulldog and now I’m having the very last of my Black Frigate in the Kiko meer poker. Should be getting 8oz of BF later this week, that’s one blend I won’t go without. image.jpg

I really need to order something from them to give it a try. This year I have many pounds of burleys and Orientals that I grew, but it would be nice to get some things to use as condimentals. Make a new thread, and share with us how it is packaged, etc.. and what you do with it. I'm looking forward.

Will do, as I said I need to read up on the prep work before I get carried away and screw it up. The leaves are vacuum sealed and there’s a few more things I need like Latakia and Turkish/Izmir but I’ll keep you all informed of my progress.

About a third of a bowl left from a freshly opened first production tin (2013) of Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style.

Felt like I was neglecting proper English blends lately so a bowl of Proper English from LA's Tobacco Trader.

I also realized I've been smoking from the bent pipe side of my collection so the last few I've grabbed straights, which led me to this unnamed simple meer -- I've always liked the rough hewed design, which isn't perfect (there are a few obvious blemishes) but it is nice and light and easy to clench.

Early December light is coming low over our south fence -- and before anyone says anything, no that is not LA smog.
