I recently watched a duo of films on the Criterion Channel starring Edward G Robinson and I couldn’t help thinking of you. The first was Scarlet Street and the second was Woman in the Window. In the former Robinson is a painter who has never had luck selling his paintings and is taken in by couple of con artists. In the latter a painting is the mcguffin, setting things in motion. Both are fantastic films by Fritz Lang and really display Robinson’s talents. I can’t recommend then enough.

I agree. I'd have given anything to have met the man. Having a Master's in Fine Art, and having been a painter (something I'm thinking about doing again), we would have had that among a hundred other things to have talked about.

I've got my kids for the week(!) so I'm not smoking in the house and only getting in around 2 bowls a day. Playing catch up on my posts- GLP Charing Cross in a Sav L76 02 last night before bed, Durbar in a Comoy's 17 this morning, GH Kentucky Nougat now in a Crown bent Apple, and probably another bed-time bowl of Charing Cross after they crash out.

And here I thought your arsenal was devoid of anything made outside of Ireland! ? Good looking pipes, BROBS.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, black fin tuna and asparagus dinner with an apple and strawberries for dessert. Now smoking Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight late ‘50s, early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Watching How The West Was Won TV movie starring James Arness.

This is the Virginian? Did you take a picture of it? What did you think of it? I was lucky enough to get a couple.
I did take a picture, but it was jarred a very long time ago so I'm sure the tin is long gone.
It really was phenomenal. Incredibly chocolatey, complex, and easy to smoke. I'm excited to see how my recent VA purchases taste after 28 years in their jars13736
