Sometimes I use heatshrink sometimes I wrap it with approx 4-5 in of dry vinyl tape. It minimizes the bite marks. I tried the bits but they are too thick and cause my jaw to hurt.

Now smoking HU Directors Cut in a smooth straight Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Watching Cornered starring Dick Powell.

Last bowl of the year. I thought I would make it a bowl of 'Weezell Mixture' which is bits of broken Grasmere Flake, off cuts of some thick brown twist from a couple of years ago and anything else that has got chucked into my desk baccy flap. I think I'll use that 1850's meerschaum with a silver band and enjoy a cup of tea and then hit the sack and hope to wake up in 2020. Happy New Year all.
