Part one of a wonderful Christmas gift from my friend in Italy, Giuseppe Tallarico; an olive wood pipe made by the man himself. The shape is rather unique I think. Sort of a cross between a lovat and a Rhodesian (lovesian?). I like it.
This will be my first time smoking an olive wood pipe and I’m very curious to see how it performs. My Italian friends say that olive is at its best with Italian Kentucky, but I’ve decided to take the pipe on its maiden voyage with Peter Heinrichs’ Curly Block. Once the pipe is well broken in, I’ll try out the Kentucky.

Now smoking year 2000 Christmas Cheer in a 1980 Stanwell 668 medium bend with a multi-colored ferrule, half black sandblasted, half brown smooth, rough top with a black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my evening drink.
